March 3, 2014

Dear 3B Parents and Students,

I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend!

Reminders/News:

Native American reminder:

Visual reports are all due on Tuesday, March 11th.  We will be sending home a handout with your child’s oral report date on Wednesday (please look for this in their filer).

The oral presentations will take place next Tuesday-Thursday.

Students brought home their research notes last Friday to use to help with their oral reports.

Tuesday (tomorrow) there will be a free dress day.

Ash Wednesday Mass is this Wednesday at 8:45 am.  It is a perfect uniform day.

March Birthdays- Bring in a picture for the birthday bulletin board!

Lent Service Opportunities: The six weeks of Lent give us ample time and opportunity for service outreach. Pick and choose the activities that work for your family.

Our class will be doing a Holy Thursday Service outreach, more information will come home about this in the next few weeks.

BROWN BAG FRIDAYS FOR ST. MARTIN de PORRES SHELTER will begin Friday, March 7th. Every year, as part of our Lenten Outreach, Holy Rosary School has provided lunches to the men at St. Martin de Porres shelter. Students are asked to bring a lunch or two and a toiletry item on designated Fridays during Lent. These lunches can be kept cold, so perishable food is fine.

**If you are interested in driving a few students to deliver the lunches one Friday in Lent, please contact Jennifer Hazzard in the school office.

Please keep the toiletry items separate from the lunches:

March 7 – Men’s gloves

March 14 – disposable razors/shaving cream (sample size)

March 21 – No School due to Archdiocesan Inservice Day

March 28 – travel size toothpaste and disposable toothbrush (singles)

April 4– Half day Auction set-up: No brown bag lunches today

April 11 – men’s socks
