Dear Third Grade Parents and students,

 

Reminders:

 

Picture Day:

Tomorrow is class picture day. Students need to be in perfect uniform. Please have your child bring in the picture form by tomorrow.

 

This Saturday is our Disco Auction-

Friday is a half-day for Auction set-up and teacher In-service

Reading:

We begin reading our chapter book Ramona Quimby this week. This week we will complete Chapter 1. We are focusing on prefixes and suffixes with the vocabulary words.

 

Language Arts: This week we will be spending two days learning about Earth Day and relating it to the Lorax. We will read the book, discuss the message and relate the concept to Earth Day and ways to protect the Earth. The next two days we will continue our Passion Book. We are close to being done! J

 

Math:

Students took the 11’s test. Today students learn their 12’s facts. Please check the sheet in your child’s folder to make sure he or she is up to date with all of his/her facts. We are continuing studying graphing. Students will complete their own survey in class and will be graphing their results.

 

Religion:

This week we will wrap – up our discussion on Pope Francis’ letter Laudato Si. In this connection we will work on “mealtime prayers,” project for our Seniors at the parish.

 

Science:

Students will continue to compare and contrast food chains and food webs.

Social Studies:

Students are finshing writing their Native American stories and are presenting them in class this week. Also, please help your child study for the States test on Friday, April 15th. They have a blank study guide and a completed map in their GeoJourney notebook.

 

Spelling:

Homework is due on Thursday and the test will be on

Friday.
