May 27, 2014

Dear Third Grade Parents and Students,

Memorare:Students need to recite this prayer to me on or before this Thursday, May 29th.

State in the Box: The kids did an AMAZING job on the State in the box project. I am so proud of their hard work and creativity. Projects and a graded rubric will be coming home on Friday.

Library books: Please make sure your child returns all books to the Holy Rosary library this week. Report cards cannot be released until these are returned or replaced.

Lunches of Love: Our second collection is this Wednesday (tomorrow). The items in the lunch need to be non-perishable (ex: no fresh fruit or sandwiches) and are donated to our Parish food bank. Thank you for your support with this!

Special Summer Writing Fun: I would like to invite all third graders to participate in our Summer Fun Pen-Pal Program. It is a great way to keep in touch with friends from 3B and practice writing skills. It’s always a big hit! I will send forms home this week. . If your child wants to participate the form needs to be turned in by Wednesday, June 4th.

Reading Logs: The May reading log is due this Friday. This is the last log of the year!

Field Trip: Our field trip is this Friday! We are excited to go and explore Constellation Park and the Space Needle. Students must wear their uniforms (no free dress) and bring a paper bag sack lunch (a disposable lunch and bag). Also, we ask that students NOT bring money to spend. Thanks to all of the chaperones for volunteering to come with us, you will be receiving an email later in the week with detailed information. We will be leaving at 10:30 and coming back around 2:00.

Book Fair: The Annual “Buy One Get One Free” book fair will be held in the Library from Wedensday, May 28th to Monday, June 2nd. Come stock up on books for summer!!
