May Child : On Friday, we celebrate Mary as a grade at 9:30 am in the church. We will pray the Rosary together. Students need to dress in “Sunday best”, bring a Rosary and a flower. You are welcome to join if you would like to.

50 States Test A study guide for the 50 states test came home last week. The test will be Tuesday, May 23rd.

Prayer Service: 3B will be leading the prayer service this Friday, May 19th in the school hall at 8:30am. Please come if you can!

Bake Sale: The annual 4th Grade Charity Bake Sale will take place this Wednesday, May 17th. If your child would like to purchase baked goods, please have them bring money on Wednesday. (Items will cost between $.25-$1.00). All proceeds will be going to St. Vincent de Paul. Thank you for your support!

This week we will be:

Reading: We continue reading Ramona Quimby. This week we read chapter 6 and 7. We focus on character traits.

Math: We continue to work on perimeter and area.

Religion: We celebrate Mary in our May Child service on Friday.

Science:  Students experiment with “Sheep on a Jeep”, a book about force and motion we read last week.  They roll sheep taped to cars down ramps to determine how ramp height affects motion.  During this unit, they will complete hand-on experiments to learn properties of force and motion and then apply this to our last engineering design project, making a contraption to save the sheep once they roll off a cliff!

Language Arts: We use our language arts time to work on our book reports.

Social Studies: Students make their State-in-the-box and take tours of each others projects.

Spelling: Homework is due on Thursday and the test is on Friday.
