Dear 3B Families,
Happy Catholic Schools Week! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

The January reading log is due Friday. The February reading log will come home Friday as well.

Valentine Boxes: Students will be making their Valentine’s Day boxes at home and they need to be brought in on Wednesday, February 13th. A handout about the Valentines box is coming home with your child on Tuesday (pink paper). On the back of the handout will be a list of all the students in the class.

Catholic Schools Week Schedule:

Lots of fun things are going on this week. We are excited about celebrating our Catholic school! Here are some reminders for the week:

Tuesday: Normal Uniform
Service Day: We will make sandwiches with our 7th grade buddies for St. Martin de Porres.

Wednesday: Perfect Uniform
Grandparents’ Day: Grandparents’ lunch will be on Wednesday. Please see the website for specific details. I look forward to meeting the students’ grandparents. There will be no hot lunch, so please pack your child a lunch. Even if your child has a grandparent come, they still need to bring their own lunch.

Thursday: Perfect Uniform
Spelling Bee: Congratulations to Layla B. and Cruz who will be representing 3B in the spelling bee on Thursday. Good luck to you both! The spelling bee will take place in the school hall from 8:30-9:15.

Friday: Olympics Theme Dress Day – 3B is Jamaica (green, yellow, and black)
We also have the Spirit Assembly from 9:30-10:15 and 8th grade vs. staff volleyball game at 1:30.

Curriculum

Reading: We will read “The Kamishabai Man.” We will focus on how the mood changes throughout the story. We will also focus on the target skill of cause and effect.

Math: Students will take the 3s tests today. They were introduced to the 4s and will be tested on them next Monday. We will continue our study of fractions as well. This week we will learn about equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, and we will play some fraction games.

Language Arts: Students will work on self-editing their shelter paragraph for the Native American report. They will then begin taking notes on clothing.

Spelling: There is no spelling this week. Star This week: None

Star Next week: Dominic

Have a great week! Orysia Earhart
