Dear Third Grade Parents and Students,

Thank you for making and providing a lunch for someone in need.

The items in the bag must be all NON-PERISHABLE.  (No fresh fruit or sandwiches)

Can of tuna/chicken/salmon (pull-top only!)   or Vienna sausages (pull-top only!) Snack packs work great!

NO soups.

Ideas for lunches:

protein bar

fruit cup

juice box

chips – prepackaged

cookies – prepackaged

napkin

spoon (if not included with the non-perishable item)

Uganda Money: It is that time again for each student to bring in their monthly $1.00 to support our Ugandan students in their schooling. Only one dollar a month does so much!  Thank you for your generosity.

Math Game: There will be no math homework on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night this week. Instead a math game is coming home to practice multiplication. Students should play it twice and turn in the work that accompanies it by next Monday.

Art Room Update!

Third graders have been studying the three primary colors (red, yellow, and blue), along with the secondary colors (orange, green, and purple) and tertiary colors that they combine to make. Using just red, yellow, and blue, students have been practicing creating their own secondary and tertiary colors, in the form of a color wheel. We are now putting these new-found color-mixing skills to use in form of a Color Wheel Cake painting. They are looking absolutely delicious!

Art Workshop Opportunity:

A new 6-week after school Art Workshop session will begin on Oct. 20th! Projects will include: Giant cookie frosting paintings, Sculpey figurines,  the Upcycled materials inventors’ challenge, ceramic sculpture, and more! This class is held on Tuesdays from 3:00-5:00pm. All 1st-5th grade students are welcome to join. The cost is $160 and includes all materials, snacks, and fun prizes. Scholarships are available based on need – please inquire at time of registration. This is an invaluable opportunity for kids to gain additional arts exposure, explore their creative side, and create lasting memories!
